March 4, 2014

Media note: All media is asked to RSVP to the event via email at or phone 612-624-5551 by March 5 at noon.

University of Minnesota President Eric Kaler will outline his priorities and agenda for the upcoming year in his third State of the University speech on Thursday, March 6 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. at the Coffman Memorial Union Theater, 300 Washington Ave. S.E., Minneapolis.

This year's address will touch on numerous themes, including the direction and progress of the university's strategic planning process; the many goals accomplished throughout the past year; and the renewed partnership with the city of Minneapolis, especially visible in the collaboration surrounding on and off-campus safety initiatives.

President Kaler will also accept questions during the event via Twitter (using the hashtag #UMNsotu) and note cards submitted by on-site attendees at Coffman Theater, in addition to his website. Faculty Consultative Committee Chair Will Durfee will moderate the Q&A.
