U of M FY15 public budget forum set for May 9

Where: Boardroom, 600 McNamara Alumni Center, 200 Oak St. S.E., Minneapolis
MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL (04/16/2014) –Members of the University of Minnesota community and the public are invited to provide input on University President Eric Kaler’s recommended FY15 Annual Operating Budget at a May 9 Budget Forum, following the Board of Regents meeting.
The proposed budget will be available in the May docket materials, which will be released at noon Friday, May 2 at the Regents website.
To provide in-person testimony to the Board of Regents, individuals must register in advance by calling Jason Langworthy at (612) 626-2266 or emailing email@example.com with the subject line “Public Forum.” Please include the following:
- Email address
- Phone number
- Campus (if applicable)
- Group/Organization represented (if applicable)
- Relationship to the University
- Focus of comments
Requests to speak must be submitted by 3 p.m. on Monday, May 5.
To avoid repetition and ensure a variety of viewpoints are represented, the Board office will generate a speaker list that represents a broad cross-section of the University. No more than three members of an organization will be selected. Speakers chosen to make comments will be notified on Tuesday, May 6.
Each speaker will have up to three minutes to make comments and for those who cannot attend in person, call-in information will be provided.
Any organization or individual may submit written comments to firstname.lastname@example.org by Tuesday, May 6.
The live budget forum will be streamed at www.regents.umn.edu.
The Board will take action on the budget June 13.
