The University of Minnesota China Center welcomes Jon Huntsman former U.S. ambassador to China and twice-elected Utah governor, as keynote speaker at the annual Bob and Kim Griffin “Building U.S. - China Bridges Lecture.” Governor Huntsman’s talk, entitled “China: Opportunities and Challenges,” will discuss the future of U.S. - China relations, the role of education, new trends in trade and collaborations between the two countries, among other topics. This year’s lecture is a part of the “China 100 Symposium: U, Minnesota, and China looking forward to the next century” that takes place earlier in the day.
Governor Huntsman will be available to the media for questions at 3:45 p.m.
Building a legacy for their children and for Minnesota, Bob and Kim Griffin created an endowment fund at the China Center to establish the “Bob and Kim Griffin Building U.S. - China Bridges Lecture.” The China Center was established in 1979 to manage the University of Minnesota's exchanges with the Greater China area.
