Luis CdeBaca, the U.S. State Department ambassador-at-large for the Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in persons, will be speaking from 2 to 3 p.m. today, Wednesday, November 20, in the Lindquist & Vennum Conference Room of the University of Minnesota Law School, 229 19th Ave. S., Minneapolis.

In May 2009, Ambassador Luis CdeBaca was appointed by President Obama to coordinate U.S. government activities in the global fight against contemporary forms of slavery. He serves as Senior Advisor to the Secretary of State and directs the State Department’s Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons, which assesses global trends, provides training and technical assistance and advocates for an end to modern slavery.
