Professor Kenneth Mitchell moves his students through four years of theater training and U of M academics. As an acting company, these students experience an innovative one-of-a-kind program that combines the artistic vision of the Guthrie Theater with the academic depth of the U of M's College of Liberal Arts. The program allows for very special, individualized attention for students in a comfortable nurturing environment. In addition, students have the opportunity to audition for the acclaimed Guthrie Theater while taking classes within the Department of Theater Arts and Dance. By the time they graduate, they already have acting experience and a head full of practical knowledge. It appears Mitchell is helping prepare students for the stage, worldly or otherwise.
